The Company

Small division of large company Rochester, NY.  R&D Engineering group.

The Job

The individual will design, develop RF senors for the energy industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize development boards, perform analysis, and simulations during design and development
  • Work with firmware, mechanical, and test engineers to develop overall product
  • Test circuit boards to prove they function as expected, debug as required
  • Support transition to production and perform failure analysis on problem areas
  • Verify that all acceptance criteria are met
  • Analyze issues and identify alternative solutions or workarounds
  • Make sure all the features, issues and tests are documented in compliance with our internal processes
  • Support existing products life cycle management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other Engineering related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in hardware engineering
  • 3+ years of Radio Frequency experience
  • Experience in low power design
  • EMI/RFI measurements/troubleshooting and mitigation
  • Experience in high-speed design within Altium
  • Ability to setup and operate RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, etc.
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in design using microcontrollers and RF modules (transmitters and receivers)
  • Are an independent and motivated self-starter
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum framework
  • Work well within teams and individually
