Position Summary

Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing new consumer products. In this position the candidate will be responsible for design, programming, development, testing and validation of embedded systems, IoT connectivity, power supply and motor controls. The position is for product development and to meet all project goals including internal objectives and customer requirements.  The Electrical Engineer will interface with customers, Sales, engineers, suppliers, purchasing and automation servicing technicians. It is expected in this position to make independent design decisions and to a participate in cross-functional team to assure overall system requirements are met.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

  • Experience in electronic design, board layout, circuit design, simulation, debug and testing.
  • Experience in microprocessor programing.
  • Experience with IoT connectivity, APPs, motor controls.
  • Qualify products and systems to regulatory standards via nationally-recognized testing labs
  • Regulatory experience including UL, CSA, and CE.
  • Skills in using in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers and other debugging tools are required.
  • Experienced to prepare all design specifications, documents and forms necessary to transfer products to suppliers/manufacturing.
  • Understanding of the complete software development lifecycle including understanding requirements gathering, software design, software design review, implementation, code review, unit testing, bench testing, automated testing, field testing, documentation, issue tracking, issue resolution and field deployment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering and physics with the ability to apply to system modeling and /or programming.
  • Must be capable of working independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to identify, manage and communicate risk.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Electrical engineering BSEE, software engineering or mechatronics\robotics engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Embedded Systems, microprocessors, DSP and SiP.
  • Experience with motors, encoders.
  • Experience in design, simulation, verification and hardware/board and software debugging.
  • Experience in programming and software embedded systems 
  • Experience in obtaining UL/IEC/IEEE/IPC/EN/FCC/CE certifications for relevant devices.
  • Experience with circuit design tools 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with multiple non-technical employee groups (sales, purchasing
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across a broad network of people (customers, management, peers, support staff)
  • Good mechanical aptitude.

Educational & Certification

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Mechatronics\Robotics Engineering

Software Skills

  • C Programming
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite including MS Project of equivalent
  • Advanced Excel (VBA)
  • Electrical circuit Design Tools
  • 3D CAD Skills, SolidWorks
